Anyway I have found a short but very intense yoga abs session on www.yogajournal.com/podcasts (Strenghten your core) Instructor Kathryn Budig gives clear instructions (but helas there are few modifications for beginners) and all the stuff is very interesting and well done. It is tough and at least two of the poses were for me impossible to do and I did modifications f.i a side plank for a half wheel. At the end of the 21 minutes I was sweating but really energized. I dowloaded it (it works well with iTunes) and I shall definitely keep it in my library.

Yesterday, since I was too stressed out to do anything else, I put on a yoga DVD and decided to to take a lesson. Going down from plank to cobra, I felt vaguely uncomfortable; doing a second serie, and then locust and half bow, I realized that what left me so uncomfortable were my breast. They were too big: in a summer I went from a 36B (which meant that they didn’t went unnoticed, either) to a size shifting from a 40B to a 38C (that is definitely big). That’s why all or almost my shirts, while perfectly fitting everywhere else are from tight to I -can’t- button- them- up in no time. What can I do? throw ‘em all away?

Hallo, what an awful blogger I am, since I have let another whole month.

Well, to tell you the truth I have started a new blog, in english: http://ferris60.wordpress.com/ (The same wordpress that hosts us), and I hope to maintain the same rule I have in my Italian blog, at least a weekly entry). Truth is that I’m not doing much progress in my weight loss, or better in keeping my weight where it is. We wnt to Austria on holidays, as usual, and it was as hot as it is here (well maybe just a bit less humid), so it kept us off temptations (like drinking good wine or eating too heavy food) and into hiking, even my husband.

Now we are back home and I struggle with light cooking and work and all the rest; it is true that is september the month of important decisions and resolutions, and I have plenty of them to bite. At least I have found an holistic doctor (in Italy natural therapies are not recognised as medicine) so I can address my incoming menopause (there are days when I feel ballooning )

At the moment I’m into a week of yoga to relax myself …Yes, after the holidays you have to be very relaxed to track back your life again.. See you and thanks for the support, I can feel it

Good news, bad news (more of the second kind) Got a series of problems, the kind you begin to doubt that all you do do to attract prosperity or at least peace do exactly the contrary…It is the attractor factor baby, what else? Anyway I dig through them and ended up with a considerable loss of hard earned money… Two days ago I woke up with an excruciating pain in a tooth. Now, it is hard to find a dentist when everybody, including my own dentist, is on holiday (besides, he was one of those who had had a part of my considerabl loss of money). My husband manages to remember that an old student of his was a dentist’s daughter, and calls him. I’m so “happy” to be accorded a between two patients check in, with a phone diagnosis of something like pulp infection. Anyway by 5 p. m I can barely close my mouth. The doctor is very kind, performs a number of exams, and yes, I have got a bad infection, I need antibiotics, which he, who is an holistic dentist, rarely uses, but I need them well before he can work on my tooth roots (bad, anyway, means I already have pus in my tooth, and no anaestetic can sedate the even more excruciating pain I suffer, during the following hour of dental care and a lot of “I’m so sorry” on his part). It was well worth, if I can say so, because before going to bed that evening ( after a concert with friend - and I didn’t have to drive - where it was difficult to recognize me) my pain had completely ceased and has never retourned afterward. Huray ! Needless to say I would like to ask my doctor number one what was looking at when I took my annual check up one week before all this…(when he will be back from his holidays) But may be the best vengeance is to drop him: dentist number 2 seem much more calm in his work ( and even less expensive… I have already spend 400€ with number one, that is 100€ every time I opened my mouth in front of him, literally ! and i have still 289 to give the number 2, for much more work)

Into this I even managed to get better with my phisical activity: now I aim to up my activity at 45′ a day no matter what, because alla I need is consistency. It seem working (at least on my shape, and on the scale, I didn’t put on more weight). And eventually my thyroid doctor agreed do give me some supplement (carnitin) to help my sluggish metabolism.

I read about president Obama health bill. One of the few things that work well in northern Italy is the health system (and I stress, northern Italy) A public health system is a social guarantee; then if you have your insurance or means, you can improve your situation, but a public health system is needed when you want to do prevention (pap smears, mammograms, colon cancer, melanoma, all this screening is done for free here; you can support it with deducible tax donations) Of course autorithies (local ones) have ti inspect on how public money is spent (and this is why in Italy public health is better north than south): but you can’t save on citizen’s health (it is one of the new fundamental rights)

Oh and I have begun a blog about mountains in English, if you want to check about Italy and other… http://ferris60.wordpress.com/

I’ve not being writing for a whole month…, during which I have worked long hours for the final examinations in my school and went to all the doctors I had to. At least my thyroid is under control; and the doctor happy too. He gave me carnitin to sustain my efforts ( he says that I need to pile up sports): unfortunately it is so hot and humid I barely can walk. Last Sunday my blood pressure was 75/95and I was not very strong, nor did I feel like doing something strenous. My ob gyn said it was all normal, like my feelings, and my bloating, and advised me to diet (just when my thyroid doctor said to keep weight under control, but to wait until a full menopause to diet)… I love them them when they agree each other…

Today on my doctor’scale (and subsequent misurations) I didn’t gain a gram, but was carrying six pounds (6!!!) of water. That’s why I don’ look like myself. After that I logged a couple of miles running and felt a little bit better.

Anyway, I ran 35 minutes, I hoped to log some km. but I didn’t fix my pedometer correctly, so I can’t tell the distance. It was good anyway.

Today I decided it was too hot to running. We have had an introduction to summer, and in two days had to switch from spring suits to sundresses (which means that I have dresses alla over home, with the usual clean, wash, iron etc.) I took my bike, which is good for touring, not for sports, it has no gears, so I can’t climb even my garage, but anyway I managed to ride in the plain outskirts of town for an hour or so and I logged a good 6km. I went along the river, discovered a lot of new homes, not very beautiful, I am afraid, and a quantity of flowers in the gardens. I rode along the “camp contumacial”, the hospital, outside the old, and now gone, town walls, where were kept poors and sick (now is a military barrack), and then above the river to the cittadella, the forteress built in 1721, that only recently has been appointed to the town. it was a great way to see my town witn new eyes…
